Sir Joseph Ward,'supporting, said we were not going, to have a premature peace, but. one which would last for ages. We must not have a stoppage of the war, which in reality was only meant to give our enemies breathing time; Lord Ranfurly recalled what New Zealand had done in the Boer. war. He never expected such vast numbers of New Zealamlers would be fighting as now at the country's call. He looked with wonder upon the stream of reinforcements the Dominion was sending. The men were entertained to a concert and tea in the afternoon and a dance in the evening. The soldiers at Hornchurcb and Wal-toii-on-Thami-s were also entertained at the respective hospitals. Mr. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward and Sir Thomas Mackenzie visited the wounded at Walton-on-Thames.
