EVERYBODY'S.

"CHIMMIE FADDEN" TO-NIGHT. The La9ky Company has never introduced a more pleasing novelty to pictures than Victor Moore's characterisation of "Chimmie Fadden," to be presented for the first time at Everybody's to-night. '-Chimmie Fadden" was created nearly a quarter of a century aao by K, W. Townsend. These sketches were the foundation of a book that sold into hundreds of thousands of copies, and a play which was presented many thousands of times. Victor Moore has played "Chimmie" on the legitimate stage, and the character fits him like a glove, as the saying is, and tne Lasky Company has made the most extreme efforts to make the production move than just a comedy picture—a veritable picture of the Old Bowery, and the types which made it famous,. Cammille Astor, a new recruit to the Lasky forces, has the distinction of playing the role of the French maid whom "Chimmie" calls "The Duchess." The story describes how I a young lady interested in slum work in a return for service performed gives one of the queer characters of the Bowery region a position as her footman. He is reluctant to take it, but on catching a glimpse of the French maid, accepts. The butler is found to be too inebriated to serve dinner, and Chimmie volunteers to take his place, with the most humorous results. Some'splcndidIj carried out dramatic scenes show how this eccentric but loyal ex-larrikin recovers his benefactor's jewellery from the crooks who have thieved it, hut is caught by the police and taken off to gaol before he can return it. The whole of the production is remarkable for the attention to detail, and the acting is quaint and clever.
