TECHNICAL COLLEGE.

AXXt'AL EXTERTAffv MEXT. A splendid entertainment was given in the Good 'Templar Itall last evening by the pupils of ihe Xr.v ••.■Plymouth Tethnical College. A high standard was shown by the performers, and there should have been a far larger audience. In presenting a collection of old melodies, the rrgani-ers put into execution a happy thought, for some of the songs rendered yst evening were among the best in the. language, and their reproduction revived many tfeliglitful memories. The entertainment opened with the chorus item, "Wave the Flags," being followed by the old favorite, "Will ye ao come bade again," sung by Miss Beadle. Tie chorus chimed in sweetly, and gave the rendering a fine effect. Miss E. Tloskin gave a faithful interpretation of the solo, "Apart;" and Miss R. Crane feelingly sang "Silver Threads Among the Gold." Probably the finest feature of the entertainment was Miss V. Harrison's vocal effort, when she rendered "Daddy." The chorus chimed in softly, and gradually developed in strength. The rendition was received with warm approbation by the audience. Hearty enthusiasm was evinced wiien Miss E. Xorris sang 'Rillarney," and the company sang the chorus, It wa? a lovely song beautifully interpreted. Other items were: "Den Bolt," Miss if. Hannah; ''Belle Mahone" bliss- R. Gernboefer; "Your Evqs Have Toll Me So," Miss E, Hoskin; "Auntie," Miss V. Harrison. The Viennese and Irish dances were popular features of the programme, the pupils keeping splendiJ time, and displaying marked ability. During the interval Mr. R. Masters (chairman of tlie Education Board) paid a high tribute to the pupils, director, and instructors for the high-class enteitainment submitted, lie regarded himself as an authority on school concerts, and he had never seen anything to equal that evening's performance. He had ■ njoyed himself thoroughly, and lwd experienced an agreeable surprise. Mr. A. Grey conducted the performance, and he was assisted bv Miss Eise (■piauiste), Miss Connell (violimste), Mr. Skelton (violist), and Sir. Blanchett (celloist). Mr. F. Bedford trained the dancers.

The last portion or tiic entertainment consisted of an rxhibltioi; of sleight-of-hand tricks and conjurii's by ilr. \V. Lints. A number of elevc. tmns were introduced, and the audience was pleasantly entertained.
