BOWLING.
TARAXAKI CEXTRTJ. A meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Bowling Centre was held in the Xew Plymouth Bowlinj Club's pavilion yesterday morning. Those present ~\-ore: Messrs. W*. "a. Parkinson (chairman), V. Bellringer, J. D. Sole, A. K. Smart, W. Robertson, and 0. N Firth. The action of the secretary in ordering a testing machine, and also writing to the Dominion Centre, asking that Mr. A. K. dmart be appointed the Centre's official tester, was confirmed. A charge of fid. per bowl is to be made for testing; should bowls require altering, an extra !)<l. per bowl is to be charged. It was decided that at the forthcoming Centre tournament, all bowls must bear the Dominion stamp, and after Ist February all bowls used in club competitions and inter-club competitions must bear the Dominion stamp. The application of the Okatc Bowling Club for affiliation to the Centre was favorably considered.
The subject of club colors came up for discussion, and Mr. J. D. Solo kindly offered to obtain a sample card of club colors, and the matter will come up for consideration at a future meeting.' Messrs. A. K. Smart, F. lieliringer, and the secretary were appointed °to make all arrangements for drawing and arranging detail* in connection with the forthcoming annual tournament in January next.
It was derided to liokl a pairs tournament at eastei, and to ask the liiftlewootl, Stratford, and llawora Clubs "for the use of tlieir jjreens to play the games on; the entry to he lifts per pair, and prizes to he awarded to winners and runnersnp, ihc number of heads to be limited to IU.
