ROUMANIANS TAKE OFFENSIVE BUT OBLIGED TO FALL BACK. $ London, 'December 13. A Russian communique says:—Sojitli of tlie river Trotus, m Moldavia, we captured a line of trenches and repulsed a counter-attack with heavy loss. The enemy is stubbornly resisting aur advance north of Dorna Watra. The Roumanians took the offensive on the high road between Mizil and Buzeau, but were obliged to fall back. The Roumanian army occupies the front Buzeu-Saringa-Meyusirai. ' A NEW FRONT. ROUMANIANS' NEW FRONT. Received Dec. 14, 10.40 p.m . Pari?, Dec. 14. M. Briand, referring to the Roumaniaus' retirement, said her army was supported by Russian armies, ami will recover, for the Eastern question is far ocm settled, and to-morrow a new front will be mobilised on the enemy front.
ROYAL CONGRATULATIONS. TO SERBIAN ARMY. Received Dec. 14, 10 p.m. London, Dec. H. Official.—The King, on the occasion 3- the capture of Monastir, cordially congratulated the Servian Commander and liis valiant army, struggling shoulder to shoulder with the Allies. Tho Czar sent a .similar message, which stated that he ivas persuaded that the common efforts would be crowned with complete victory, assuring Serbia of the free development of its folitieal life and the realisation of its national aspirations. FIGHTING NORTH OF MONASTIR, . London, December 13. There is violent artillery work and lively fighting r.orth of Monastir. The Italians repulsed a Bulgarian counterattack.
