■» I i BELGIAN' FUND. ■ : At the flower stalls in Devon and Brougham Streets on Saturday the sum of £ll was taken in connection with the Salvation Army's Belgian appeal. The Women's Patriotic Committee, who conducted the sale, are indebted to those who supplied the flower*. The Mayoress (Mrs. C. H. Burgess) has despatched a draft for £IOO to the Institute for Blind Soldiers and Sailors. The following sums have also been forwarded:— £SO for the provision of comforts at the Codford Convalescent camp; £ls for the same purpose at Bwkenhurst Ejospital, and £25 for the maintenance of the New 'Plymouth ambulance at the front. Five young men from the Kahni road —Messrs. H. Eatock. M. , Fleming, It Fleming, S. Jones and P. I'arker—were the hosts at the Rahotu .patriotic tea. on Friday afternoon. The secretary of the Rahotu Ladies' Patriotic Committee has received a letter under date October !l. WIG, from Lieut.-Col. D. S. Wylie/N.Z.M.C, officer commanding No. 1 New Zealand General Hospital, Hants, acknowledging receipt of two cases of clothing, etc., which arrived for use by that hospital, formerly the Xo. 2 X.Z. Stationary Hospital. The letter states: "We are receiving now large numbers of patients from France, and you may rest assured x that the articles you have so kindly sent are being used, and are much appreciated by the sick and wounded of the X.Z.K.F. Please convey to the members of your committee, and to all the workers.' our
