RETURNED SOLDIERS.
[ 'ASSOCIATION FORMED. I A well-attended meeting of returned ?v<uv Plymouth soldiers was hold in the .Soldiers' Club'oil Friday evening for the purpose of forming an association. Mr. C. Vl'. Batten, general secretary of the New Zealand lletunied .Soldiers' Association, was present, and explained to the meeting the objects of an association and the value of organisation and united effort for the purpose of furthering the interests of returned men. It was unanimously decided to form an association. Mr. X. B. Howell was elected president, Mr. W. P. OUey secretary, Mr. I\ T . Harding treasurer, and the following were elected a .committee Messrs E. Hine, H. A. Davies, H. Jordan, C. P. Bastings, W. Marshall and W. Ellis. The meeting also decided to affiliate with the >"o\v Zealand Association. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Batten for his assistance. It is the intention of the New Zealand body to co-ordinate all its forces with a view to improving the conditions of returned men and assisting them to adapt themselves to civil occupations.
