N.Z. WOOD PUT* AND PAPER MAWFACTORING CO,, LTD. In regard to the abridged prpspeettw of the New Zealand Wood Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Which appeared in Saturday's issue, Mr. Walter Bi'wley has been appointed the local broker. The objects of the. company arc to manufacture in .Xew Zealand from native woods the newsprinting paper on which the newspapers in New Zealand are .printed. In the past practically the whole of the newspaper used in the Dominion has been imported from England or Canada. Canada of late supplies by far ihc largest proportion of the 50 tons per day r used by the New Zealand papers. A large area, has been secured on the West Coast' of the South Island, near lake Brunner, and, with ample and chea,p water-power, it is estimated to turn out twenty tons of" paper per diem. The capital of the company is £200,000, in 200,000 shares of £1 eaoh. The cost of machinery and plant and expenses of erection aro estimated to amount to £94,520. To show the confidence of the founders of the company, they have accepted partly paid-up shares in ".full satisfaction of the purchase money. In addition, founders' shares will not be transferred until after one year from date of the commencement of the. manufacture of paper by the company.
