The New \ear bowling tournament promoted by the three New clubs will be held on Monday and Tuesday, Ist and 2nd January, 1917. The net proceeds are to be devoted to the Tarauaki Bowling Centre's Patriotic Fund. The competitions to be held on Fitzroy, New Plymouth, and West End greens. Entrance Jee to be'- 10s. per rink. Games to be 10 heads up. Semifinals and finals to be 21 heads up. Entrants to be divided into sections.' Winners and ties in sections >o go into seraifinals. The rules governing the tonrn.iincnt are to be those adopted by the Taranaki Bowling Centre in its annual tournament, where applicable. Nominations, accompanied by entrance fee, to close with the secretary, O. N. Firth, P.O. Box 152, New Plymouth, on .Saturday, 16th inst., at 8.30 p.m. Tournament to be open to all club 3 affiliated to the Taranaki Bowling Centre. Semi-finals and finals aTe to be played on the West End green. Games will be started each morning at 0 o'clock sharp. The executive consists of Messrs. A. K. Smart, Fred. Bellringer, and J. D. Sole. All disputes to be settled by the executive, whose decision shall be 'final. The banner match between Ingleffood and Waitara did not eventuate, owing to the wet weather.
