RIFLE ASSOCIATION MEETING.
SHOOTING MATCHES, The annual meeting of the No. 8 (TVanaki) Group Rifle Association will be held on the Retva Retva Rifle Range, Nett Plymouth, on Tuesday, January 2, commencing at S a.m. The programme will consist of five matches, and with the exception of No. 4 and No. 5, each match is divided into three sections, devoted respectively to territorials, members of rifle clubs, and senior cadets.
Tlic firing will be conducted as fol-J lows:—No. 1 match: grouping, 100 yards, second-class figure target, five rounds:/ No. 2 match: Application, 200 yard'.' second-class figure target, five rounds! Mo. .'! match: Application, , r >oo yard; ■ first-class figure target, seven rounds j No. 4 match: Application, 000 yards (fo: | territorials and members of rifle club; l first-class figure target, seven rounds, i No. 5 match: Snap shooting, 200 yard-] (for senior cadets), second-class figurei target, six seconds exposure, five rounds. In addition to money prizes to he given by the Defence Department, the following special prizes will be fire:! for:—Gold medal, presented l.v officers of the Xlth Regiment (Tnranaki Rifles) to the territorial scoring the highest aggregate points in ail territorial matches; gold medal, presented by Messrs. Bennett and Sutton, of Hawora, to the rifleman scoring the highest points in all rifle club matches; gold medal, presented by (he officers of the Xlth Regiment (Tara-j naki Rifles) to the cadet scoring tlie*' highest points in all senior cadet matches. '
