DOMINION'S PART.

MINERS' RIGHT OF APPEAL. Wellington, Dec. 1. The Hon. James Allen, in the course of a statement, said he wished to make it perfectly clear that in case of any miner being drawn in the ballot, he not only had the right to appeal to the Military Service Board, hut also his employer had a similar right. He was very anxious indeed that coal miners should be retained in the. industry, because this was of very great importance to New Zealand. In order to assist them in thei" appeals to the boards, regulations had been published in the Gazette, on October 2, by which the Minister of Munitions could send a certificate to the board and a man would be granted exemption.
