SOLDIERS' MARRIAGE BY PROXY. ' Melbourne, Nov. 28. ' to. Pearce expressed approval of a Jaggestion made in the State Parliament that the Government adopt the French system of providing for marriage by proxy of soldiers at the front to young women whom they promised to wed. He 'laid letters in the possession of the Defence Department showed that such arwere very necessary.
