GALE IN WELLINGTON. Bj Velegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A northerly gale raged last night and early this morning. Soaking rain fell, and continued all day. Shipping, especially coastal, was unable to work cargo. The downpour continues tonight. ; . • . WOOL BUYERS' AND VALUERS. Wellington, Las.t Night. The wool buyers and valuers conferred again to-day. The Minister for Agriculture has made them an offer for their services as valuers in connection with the British Government's proposal to commandeer this season's clip. They will give a final reply at noon tomorrow.
NEW ZEALAND CHEESE L\ LONDON. Wellington, Last Xight. Mr. Allen to-day received the following from the High Commissioner, dated London, Friday:— 1 "No New Zealand cheese being allowed to go into the hands of consignees here, pending arrangements which the British Government purpose making."
