PATRIOTIC WORK.
AMBULANCE FUND. FULL AMOUNT RAISED. The expectations of the local branch of the Victoria Leag;:e to raise :Cl.l on Saturday, in order to complete its con - tribution of £SO towards the cost of providing a New Zealand ambulance, were fully realised, the amount required being exceeded by over .£,l. A large quantity of magnificent flowers was placed at the League's disposal, and they were readily disposed of at the Devon Street and Brougham Street stalls and by sellers in the streets. Among those who assisted in the sale of the flowers on Saturday were: Mesdames Burgess, Neal, Jenkins, Misses Fabian, Warren, Sole. Grant. K. Leatham, fi. White, Hurle, and Mr. A. Allan. The ambulance fund has been augmented by donations from the girls' branch of the League, £2, junior associates £2 Is fid, Mrs. Evans £2, Mrs. Fantliam £l, annual meeting afternoon tea £1 17s 6d, stall £2, A Friend £1 Is, Mrs. Hammond £l.
