THE PRICES FIXED, hi' IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Gazette to-night contains a statement of the amended arrangements for the f.o.b. purchase on behalf of the Imperial Government of all meat available for export as follows; The conditions laid down in the Prime Minister's notice published in the Gazette of March 3, 1015, remain unaltered, except in respect of the following points:
Classification of meat and price to be paid therefor f.o.b,:— Wethers: First quality, 7'slb. and under, prices now in operation, ">%d; over 7211). and up to Solb., over S,">lb. and up to HSilb., 4%d (subject to special approval by the inspector). Wethers: Second quality, sy s d. Ewes: First quality, 721b. and under, 4%d; over 7"21b. and up to Solb., 4%d. Ewes: Second qualitj', 4%d. Lamb: Specially prime and, Canterbury quality, 421b. and under, (i'/»d; 421b. and under, tf%d; over 421b., C'/ a d; second quality, (I'/sd. Beef: Prime ox, sd; second and heifer, 4%d; boning in quarters, 4%d and d. Cow beef: Prime, 4%d; second, 4',4d; beef, boneless, 5 l / t d. Mutton: Legs, G%d; shoulders, 3%d; loins, 5%d. These prices are fixed for the period of the war, and for at least three months after its termination. They apply to all meat from stock slaughtered on or after October 20, Ifllfi, and which is available for export. Storage charges are reduced by 2.1 per cent, as from November 1, Wlfi. They will, therefore, now be as follows:—No storage shall be payable until after one month has expired, when the rate shall be 3.32 d. per lb. per calendar month, or any portion of a month, but the total storage for any period shall not exceed 9.3-2tl. per lb.
