THa. rates at which the Growers' Conference is prepared to sell have been cabled Ut London, .but a day or two may cbuxtt before a reply is received, since Ilr* Massey will have to consult that Inh perial authorities. Growers audi com* mercial people generally are uncertain in the meantime, what the position will be if the proposals of the conference are| not accepted. The Government ba* power to requisition the wool, and pan for it at the rate originally by the Imperial Board of Trade, thai is, a 45 per cent, advance on the 1913-H prices. But nobody seems to know, definitely if the Government here is prepared to take up a strong line. Ifc ig stated in some quarters that if fbe growers' terms are not accepted in London, the whole requisitioning scheme may lapse.
