A 'PUNITIVE EXPEDITION. Sydney, Xov. 10. The steamer Paeique, from the New Hebrides, reports the landing; of an Anglo-French punitive expedition at Malekula, to avenge the recent massacres, The natives were well armed, and a sharp fight ensued. Nine of the expeditionary troops were killed, and a bluejacket was wounded. The natives were severely punished. After the forces had returned, the ships heavily shelled the vll.'ages and plantations
