GREECE.

A GERMAN'S TACTICS. i£_ ROYALISTS NEED REPASSING. Athens, Nov. 13. ' Ihe German Minister's note is not taken seriously. Von Marbaeh is cut off from communciation with Berlin and is believed to have acted on his own responsibility, in co-operation with the Gournarists, in drawing up a note with the view of frightening the Government into a refusal of the Entente's demands. The note was firm and courteous and dealt with all the points upon which according to German diplomacy, Greece had departed from neutrality and aided the Entente, chiefly by the use of the Greek fleet. The note declared that Greek neutrality had 'btcome unstable and proGermans were awaiting some decisive opportunity to point out to Greece that neutrality was the best course.

Von Marbaeh is afraid of bis life and is never seen at a cafe without a revolver beside his plate. Popular indignation is high because officers are compelled to resign before joining the Nationalists. The Entente insisted that they should retain their pensions and seniority. fifteen hundred Royalists are advancing nortlj of Ekaterina occupying the villages, installing garrisons, requisitioning cereals, and terrorising the population.
