BOROUGH WORKS
The monthly report on the progress of borough works for the period ending October 31..1010 will be presented to the Borough Council this evening, as follows: Paynter's Avenue.— The work of widening this street is progressing steadily. Waterworks.—The caretaker reports that everything is satisfactory at the intake and filters and the telephone which has hem installed is now in use. Baths.—The attendance and receipts for ill? month ending October SI, 1!11<!, at the baths are as follows:-- Swimming pool, attendance 40S, receipts £7 5s 1.1, hot baths, attendance !)2, rc-eipts ~£l\ 14s, a total of £lO His Id. the receipts for the correspoi:dir.» month last year were: Swimming poo! £l3 ifis fid,"hot baths £3 ns, a total of £l7 Is sd, or a decrease of £fl 2s -id. Tram route.—The tram route has given « consid?rable amount of trouble during the month owir.g to several days being very hot and causing the tar to soften. Shingle- was spread over the worst places r::d these are now in good condition.
