CONCLUDING DAY. A LARGE, ATTENDANCE. 'As hud been the case for the two previous days, fine weather prevailed for People** Day, and there was a, huge attendance. Eight through the Show has been well patronised, the gate takings being in the vicinity of £IOOO, or about £2OO in excess of last year. The men from the Awapuni Ambulance Camp leaving shortly for the front were again present, and gave an exhibition of marching, which evoked keen applause. The scene af the ringside during the grand parade was a brilliant one. The grand parade itself was a -magnificent one, and could not fail to impress; even the most casual observer with some idea of the importance of the Dominion's wealth-producers in beef and butter-fat. The parade' was well marshalled, and at its conclusion, when the cattle were arranged in successive rows facing the stand, Shorthorns in the front rank, then Herefords, Ayrshire*, Jersey.?, Ilolsteins (two rows of these), and Milking Shorthorns, the display was very fine. Tiie horses made a great display, particularly the heavy draughts, a.tid heavy horses in work, two and one-horse tradesmen's turnouts, giving added interest. Light horses also paraded well, some fine animals being shown, but there were not the number that would have been paraded a few years ago. Judging of the few remaining classes were early completed. Mr. Howard Booth's Lonely secured champion ribbon among saddle horses, and S. F. I'omtt's Euby a similar honor in the harness section. S. R. Lancaster won hi the e'nss for cow or heifer giving the highest amount of butter-fat from three milking;. He was the only competitor, and won the same competition on tlte only other occasion it was held, viz., in 1014. COMPETITIONS. The big event was the Champion Open Hunters' Competition, for which there were 13 entries. H. Hassa'.l's Micky Free was the winner, giving a faultless exhibition, and thereby secured £25 and the O'Rorke Challenge Cup, which is now •his own property, having been won three years in succession.
