The Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, October 28th, 1010, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. Note Quotations (unless otherwise specified) ai") average market prices on spot):— Meat.—Home-killed mutton and Eng- • ish lamb are in good supply and selling at comparatively low prices, with the result that the demand has considerably fallen off for New Zealand lamb. Owing to continued small supplies of New Zealand mutton prices are higher tor Argentine mutton. New Zealand mutton, pu lb. 83d; ewe mutton, Bd. Argentine mutton, heavyweight B}d, lightweight B%d, New Zealand lamb, Aid. Argentine lamb, 8?d. Argentine beef, small supplies. Argentine chilled beef, hinds Djd, fores Bd. Butter.—The market has a firmer tone since last report. Offerings from all sources are small and demand is rather quiet. Prices have a hardening tendency. Danish, market continued dull; prices are higher; per cwt. 210s to 2145. Irish I creamery, salted 104s to .19Ss, nnsultod lflSs to 200s. New Zealand, a steady demand-, salted.
