PATRIOTIC WORK.
Another 250 gift tobacco tins were packed and labelled on Saturday by Messrs Jas. Clarke and J. W. H, Martin (the Comforts Week Tobacco Com* n-.ittee), and their helpers. Orders are still coming in, and. it is anticipated that during this week another two or tl'ree hundred packages will be forwarded. It was not anticipated by the ladies of th.> Red Cross Committee that good sales would result on Saturday, but they were gratifyingly disappointed. Despite the wet weather and the counter-at-tr.ictions business was brisk throughout the day, and the mart tills accumulated £l4 2s Gd, a highly satisfactory result, Mesdames Hugh Baily and Morrison acknowledge with thanks a donation of fl?. from B.H.S. for their fund for parcels for our boys at the front.
