SALES STEADILY INCREASING.
The sales of War Loan Certificates for the week ended October 23 show a further steady increase. The total allocation among the various districts to that date is as shown below;— Auckland, £134,343 12s; Blenheim, '£!f).3S7 4sj Christchurch. £145,615 4s; Onnedin, £146,085 12s; Gisborne, £20,72H 4p; Grey mouth, £17,813 12s; Hokitikti £8275 4s; Invercargill, £59,440 4s; New Plymouth, £44,738 8s; Oamaru, £15,746 8s; Thames, £18,190; Timaru, €40,072; Wanganui, '£47,951 4s; Wellington, £244,04(1 12s; Westport, t £ll,748. Total, £1,060,379 12s.
