FARMERS' CO-OP. ORGANISATION SOCIETY, LTD. On Saturday, October 14, we held a horse sale at tho Hawera Horse Bazaar, when we yarded over one'hundred and fifty horses of all descriptions, and report a most successful sale. Heavy draught horses (unbroken) sold at from £2O to £3l, medium do. £ls to £2O, light horses £5 to £ls, young broken heavy draughts £27 to £3B 103, aged sorts £ls to £25, milk carters £l7 to £24, light harness horses £lO to £ls, hacks £5 to £l4, weeds 10s upwards. At Opunake on Monday, 10th inst., we held our usual fortnightiy sale and bull fair. There was a full yarding of store cattle of all descriptions, which met with a strong demand at advanced rates, and almost everything sold at the hammer. Bulls came forward in very large numbers, and among them were a lot of good quality bulls. Competition was good, and the major portion of them changed owners. We quote: Fat cows £lO 15s' tp £l2. fresh conditioned cows £9 to £lO, forward cows £8 to £8 17s Gd, store cows £0 15s to £7 17s, small store cow's £5 10s to £0 10s, empty 2-year heifers £6 ir>s to £7 10s, yearling heifers £3 15s to £5, yearling steers £4 4s to £O, Holstein bulls lOgns t0.29 gns, Shorthorn bulls lOgns to. 20 gns, Jersey bulls Bgns to logns, Ayrshire bulls to 13gns, others £5 to £lO 10s. In the dairy pens there was a, fair entry of springing heifers, which met with a good sale. Best heifers sold at from £lO 10s to £l3, others £0 10s to £lO 10s. Good store pigs sold up to £2.
Manaia.—Fat cows sold at from '£lo 10s to £l2 lps, fresh conditioned cows £8 18s to £9 17s, forward cows £7 to £8 15s, store cows £6 to £7, yearling steers £4 12s, heifers £4 4s, Shorthorn bulls 12 to 21 guineas, Holstein bulls 10 ,to 15 guineas, Jersey bulls !) to 13 guineas, springing heifers £lO to £l3, others £5 10s to £lO.
On Wednesday, IStli inst., at Inglewood yards, wo hold our usual sale. There was a good yarding of cattle and-a large attendance of buyers. Competition was keen, and, with a few exceptions, the whole yarding was sold at satisfactory prices. Fat cows sold at from £lO 15s to £ll fis, fresh conditioned cows £8 to £9 7s, forward cows £7 15j to £B, stare cows £0 10s to £7 10s, year* ling heifers £3 10s to £5, yearling steers £5 to- £s*lo Od, empty ewes 20s Id, best in-calf heifers £lO 10s to ,£i10s. others £6 10s to £lO, cows £7 to £l3.
