LAWN TENNIS.
NEW [PLYMOUTH CLUB. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club was held at the' Soldiers' Club rooms last evening, Dr. Leatham presiding over lin attendance of over twenty members. The report and balance-sheet, particulars of which have already been published, 'Were adopted. In speaking to the report the president said that the committee had decided, owing to the decrease in revenue, that no rebate on subscriptions would be granted this year, and it remained for members to loyally support the committee in this ilejfision. Oli'ifers were elected as follows: President, I)r. Leatham (re-elected); vice-president, Dr. E. A. Fookes (reflected); secretary and treasurer. Mr. 11. Stacker; auditor, Mr. W. P. Nicoll; management committee, Messrs E. Griffiths, T. Simpson, E. P. Davis, A. !!. Rvdri. and 11. R. Bloxam.
Mr, Stocker, in accepting the reerfhryship, asked for tlie support of the committee. He was a very busy man, and unless the committee aided him the eimlj might perhaps not receive the attention it should. The, president said that the secretary declined an honorarium for past services, and on his motion a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Stocker. It fraa reported that the club's froquet list was at full membership (2.4), and votes of thanks to the ladies' committee, the outgoing management committee, and the press terminated the meeting.
