PROPOSED IMPERIAL GUARDS

APPROVED BY SIR JOSEPH WARD. Receied Oct. 25, 1.15 a.m. London, Oct. 24. The 1 Daily Express advocates the formation of regiments of Imperial Guards consisting of Dominion troops. Sir Joseph Ward, in an interview, says that the idea has much to recommend it. As an Imperialistic conception it would serve to focus the people's minds upon Empire affairs, and would be productive of good if the Guards could be formed without weakening the individuality of the various separate divisions from the overseas Dominions,
I MESOPOTAMIAN INQUIRY | CRITICISED. ! London, October 23. The Daily Mail states that the Commission of Inquiry into the scandals in the Mesopotamia campaign is doing Its work in a very peculiar manner, and there is a growing fear that it may issue a whitewashing report. • The Daily Mail demands that the Commission should take the evidence of 'Sir O'Moore Creagh, who, while Commander-in-Chief in India, made many recommendations which, if carried out, would have prevented disaster. !
