' (MURDERERS SENTENCED TO DEATH. . , Sydney. Oct. 19. Kennedy and Franz found guilty of the murder of Constable Duncan i»nd sentenced to death. Evidence at the trial showed that Duncan's death was the outcome of the arrest of a member of the I.W.YV., and his intention to arrest Ronald Kennedy on a charge of abusive language in connection therewith. Franz gave evidence that after seeing the constable about the threatened summons, Ronald Kennedy said the police would have to be stopped, and arranged the shooting. He threatened to shoot Franz unless he participated. Counsel explained that the charge against Michael Kennedy would be taken later.
