MINISTER ISSCES 'A WARNING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. 'Auckland, October 13. The Hon. G. W. Russell, in a qieeeh at the opening of the Red Cross rooms, said that his son stated in a letter that among the number of German prisoners carried by the Maranm from France to England was a. New Zealander tra'r.ed in one of our best-knov/n collegiate institutions. Mr. Russell uttered a warning to the public against giving credence to Ger-man-inspired news. Such colored statements were appearing in the cabled news from Homo and these wers calculated to discourage recruiting by giving the impression that it was impossible to living Germany to her knees. Whatever the appearance of thingo the British people were determined to see the war through to a successful peace. '
