EVIDENCE IN TREASON CASE Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. Sydney, Oct. 17. Among the concluding' evidence in the treacor. case some extraordinary literature was produced. Tho following advertisement appeared: "Direct action; ivantca recruits, male and female, for .ho Industrial Workers of the World, ifust be determined, unscrupulous, not fraid of gaol or death. Apply, nearest ',\V.W. recruiting office." A letter, signed by the General Secctary, I.W.W. Hall, London, wa» read, t said: "Tilings are rough here; we are ipaily all either interned as enemies or n goal under conscription. Most of us xptct to b6 in gaol in a week or so, > from Saturday we are soldiers, They \vc not caught us yet, though even iea «r3 shall not be soldiers, curse ■.em." A kttT from the Workers' Univerity Direct Action Group, Auckland oadrpiartn.?. contained the following: "Our cdu«it;on scheme will deal with economic biology and physiology, scientific sabotage, etc. The most potent weapon of the militant minority is the original dope, or ideas will be given out showir.g how a few individuals here and there, on different jobs 2an any day at all times by incessant, silent sabotage, without tho knowledge of the boss, bo wringing concessions, particularly the shorter hour? so necessary to enable the unemployed to become absorbed. By I scientific sabotage silently and [judiciously applied victimisation and detention v/il! become a thing of the past." "'here \ure many other letters from from various centres advocating sabotage. One suggested the use of direct action on. the Judge who had sentenced Barker. Others were from a Chinaman in Rangoon showing that a propaganda was i>:r,<;tcd ; ng by publications and It-cturoa.
