AMONGST THE FALLEN, Tn Monday's casualty list wore tlie following names:—Dangerously ill from wounds, in hospital at Rouen: Lancc-i Corporal A. .1. Thompson (Mrs. Gibson,! 'New Plymouth,'aunt); Rifleman G! W. : Griffin (Rev. .1. W. Griffin, Waitara, father). Killed in action, serving with I Australian forces, on September 4: E.j McGlnshnu (Mrs. McGlashan, Haweraj !mother). Seriously ill: Private. Ernest McNeill (W. O'Neill, Oco). The death occurred at Trontham Military Hospital on Saturday of Private. E, G. Tiinnicliffe, of New Plymouth, from measles following on a severe attack of influenza. Deceased was in his IHst year, and much sympathy is, expressed for hi.s relatives in their bereavement. The funeral will take place to-day, interment being at the Te Henui Cemetery.
Stuart Ross McDonald, who died from wounds on September 2:1, -\vas at one time on the stall' of the Magistrate's Court at Hawcra. lie left with the 4th Battalion of the Rifle Brigade. Captain G. E. Daniel, who has been killed in action, was the eldest son of 'Mr. and Mrs. P. Daniel, of Foxton, and formerly well-known residents of Palmerston North. The late Captain Daniel went to the front with the Main Body, being a lieutenant in one of the batteries. He won promotion on Gallipoli and for gallantry in action the Military Cross. He went on to France as captain in his 'battery. Captain Daniel was a keen soldiir, who made soldiering his profession. Before the war broke out he was a lieutenant on -the General Staff attached to the Auckland Artillery Brigade. Mr. Sheppard, of Vogcltown, has received word that his son, Frank, lias been slightly wounded, but is remaining with unit.
Yesterday's casualty list contains ths name of Private A. L. Duller, of New Plymouth. Before enlisting with the Expeditionary Force, Private Duller was employed.in the electrical department of the New Plymouth Borough Council.

The deceased soldier was one' of the quiet, unassuming sort,' and on* against whom no one had an ill word. '■ Amongst the names of thoso recent!*! killed in action is that of Private e' : ' Hull'. The late Private Duff was on' the staff of the Normanby cheese factory last season. He was of a happy anil generous disposition, and was well liked by everybody.
The death of Private H. ,T. Fa'ull, who. was killed in action in France, has cart' a gloom over the whole district (write* the Kaponga correspondent of tho Ilawera Star). Private Harry Paull waa : one of those genial, dean, straight lais ; who endeared himself to everyone. Hi* clean life and hi; love of home and. mother was a great feature in Haijy, and his parents have the symapthy of a very large circle of friends. Privatei H. Faull always took a keen intern*. in tho affairs of this township, and mw. always a willing helper in everything.' He was associated with the band and flre' brigade, aud with hockey, soccer, cricket' and tennis in e most creditable manner. He will also be much missed as a worker' in the Anglican Church. .'
Another Waimate Plain" boy to nuikat the great sacrifice is Gunner A. A. Camp.' hell, son of Mr. Alex. Campbell,- of Ka,uJ pokonui. He was killed on September 20th. Until he left with the Main Ex-; peditionary Force he had lived all bin' life in this district. Ho went through Egypt and Gallipoli, and, going toil France, was in action up to the timi that he fell.
