MINER'S AWFUL DEATH.

John Mcintosh, an experienced miner and shaftsman, fell out of the cage while descending on« of tile Waihi Company's shafts this afternoon. His mate, who accompanied him, did not see or hear him fall. Hf. only discovered Mcintosh was gone by n glimmer of light in the chamber ef No. 11 level as the cage passed it. The liody was terribly mutilated. It was found it the bottom of the shaft. Deceased leaves a widow and five children.
