BOWLING.

BOWLS FOR SAMOA, A short time ago, Mr. M. F. Barnett, president of the Dominion Bowling Association, received a communication from Captain Richardson, officer commanding the wireless station at Apia, asking that some bowls be sent over, through the Lady Liverpool Depot, who would forward them. "Almost anything in the shape of a bowl would do," added Captain Richardson. To enable Taranaki bowlers to contribute, Mr. O. N. Firth, secretary of the Taranaki centre, will, be pleased to receive any bowls that may be forwarded to him, and see that they are sent to their destinaiton. He has already received a set of four from Captain Wilson, and doubtless many other lovers of the pastime will follow the veteran's example. On account of the recent heavy rains the town bowling greens will not be open for play to-day.
