Mr. W. Kerr, S.M., with his wife and daughter, left Wunganui for Masterton on Monday.

Mr. Ward, who occupied the chair, spoke very highly of Mr. Garvey'a business qualifications, and of the esteem iii which li'e is also held for bis sterling personal worth. On behalf of his numerous friends, the chairman asked Mr. Garvey to accent a cheque as a token of their regard. Mr. .1. B. Moodie, speaking for Messrs. Dalgety and Co., said it gave him the greatest pleasure to be present, and to endorse all that Mr. Ward had said. The company was exceedingly sorry to lose Mr. Garvey's services after a connection ex- , tending over fourteen years, but he congratulated him heartily on the position he had secured, whMi he thoroughly, descried, and predicted for him an increasing measure of success in the work he is now undertaking.
