WHEAT. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. New York. Oct. 3. Chicago wheat deliveries for December are quoted at 159} cents per bushel as compared with 157% cents last week; for May deliveries 158% cents as compared with 150J cents. The visible supply is 68,430,000 bushels. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S RETORT. The Higli Commissioner's market report, dated London, September 30, is as follows: Meat—There is less demand for all descriptions of frozen meat, owing to large supplies of home-killed mutton and Scotch lamb, which is selling at comparatively low price*; New Zealand mutton, prices lower, B%d, ewe mutton 8d; Argentine mutton 7%d, home-kill-ed ewe mutton, 7%d to 7%d; New Zealand lamb O'/jd, Argentine lamb 7%d, .Scotch lamb 10*4 d; Argentine chilled beef, hinds 9d, fores 7d. Butter.—Market continues firm owing to continued small supplies; demand likely to decrease; stocks in cold store very light and declining rapidly for 'buyers until arrival of new season's make of colonial butters; Danish, salted, 204s to 210s; Irish creamery, salted l'94s to I9Cs, unsalted l'96s to' 108s, exceptional 200s; New Zealand salted 100s, unsalted 102s; Argentine, unsalted, 1945; American creamery, salted/ 184s to ISGs. Cheese. —Market firmer; prices have hardening tendency; there is a fair demand; Canadian, white 107s to IOSs, colored, 107s to 108s; New Zealand, white, 106s to 108s, colored IOGs to lOSs; English cheddar, 118s to 1225.
