ALLOTMENT OF SHARES. The. provisional directorate met on Tuesday evening, ami proceeded to the allotment of shares, having received applications sufficient to allow them to go to allotment as provided by the prospectus. It was decided to prepare plans nnd specifications for the bathing pavilion, tea. kiosk, and cottages, and invite tenders for the work, so as to have tlw greater number of the cottages erected before Christmas. The canvassing committee reported that their time would wholly be taken up with theii business affairs for the next fortnight, and mentioned Hint if those persons who intended assisting with this great movement would kindly send their applications and fees along to the secretary it would enable the directorate to carry out the whole of building scheme Dutlined in the prospectus. I Mr. McQuade mentioned that he could not understand why so much canvassing should be necessary, as 1 it was a work inaugurated for the benefit of the town, and all well wishers for the future success of New Plymouth should come forward, voluntarily and -take up the shares.
