—i ai » FOR MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. Mr. W. J. Wakelin reports for the period ending September 28, 1916: Trade and labor conditions for the period under review have, in the main, been satisfactory. Notwithstanding the increased cost of material, the building trade is very active. Since submitting my previous report, jobs totalling about £IO,OOO have either commenced or wfll shortly be commenced. The wood-work-ing, engineering and leather trades report very satisfactory business. In tlw retail trades business has been up to its usual standard for this time of the year. The dairy factories have commenced what promises to be a very successful season.
