Judge Heydon, in the Industrial Court, cancelled the registration of the New South Wales branch, of the Federated Moulders' Metal Union of Australasia, owing to the moulders disorganising the supply of munition steel and demanding a higher rate. THE AMUSEMENTS TAX, Melbourne, Sept. 29. In the House, the Amusements Tax Bill was introduced. It operates from November 1 and covers all classes of sports and entertainments, excepting charitable, educational, and children's amusements. The debate was adjourned until after the referendum was taken. JAPAN'S EMIGRATION RIGHTS. Washington, Spot. 2D. Japan nurposes to renew at the end of the war the contention of the right of her people to emigrate to and own land in the United State*. The Japanese Embassy admitu that the negotiations on these questions, which came to a deadlock two years ago, are not regarded by Japan as concluded, but merely postponed while the larger issues of the war arc being dealt with. A WHARF STRIK&Newcastle, Sept. 30. The Korori is hold up owing to the wharf labourers refusing to load coal unless they receive 2s 6d and 3s 6d an hour for day and night work respectively.
