PROPOSED WAXGANUI-RAETIHI 'I. iLlNfi. ■By Veiegraph Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. A representative conference of delegates from local bodies was held today to discuss building a link railway between Wanganui and Raetihi. There were also present Messrs. W. A. Veitch, G. V. Pearce, and R. W. Smith, M.P.'s. It was stated that the proposed railway would serve a large area, of good country, and shorten the present journey between Wanganui and Ohakune by fifty miles It was decided to approve of the formation of a railway district embracing portions of four counties and roughly a thousand square miles in extent, and to urge the Government to have a survey carried out with the object of ascertaining the most practicable route.
