INHALING ROOMS.
AT THE CAMPS. (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, September 2d. General Henderson mentioned to-day that the inhaling rooms, constructed recently for the treatment of sore throats and Kindred troubles in the camps, were in full working order. The results, as far -is could be judged, had been decidedly good, but the medical staff was arranging for a thorough bacteriological examination of men who had undergone the treatment, in order to ascertain if the breathing of an antiseptic preparation, vaporised in steam, had the full effect lioped for. The men were placed in the rooms for short intervals, and the process from their point of view was a fairly severe one, but the experts attached to the War Office had recommended the treatment. Similar rooms had been prepared on board the transports now in use.
