GOLF.
TOBACCO DAY AT WAIWAKATHO. Golfers avo reminded of the all-day tournament which takes place at the Waiwakaiho links to-day, the entrance fees, etc.. of which are to be devoted to providing tobacco for the Taranakl boys who are fghting at the front. This t- imminent is open to all golfers, irrespective of whether they belong to a club or the L.G.U. Association and there will also be competitions held at the cluli house, such as putting, for those who are non-golfers. Luncheon ami afternoon tea will be pn vided at the links, where sweets will also be on sale. A large number of lady' members of the New Plymouth and Witiora Clubs have expressed their intention to take part in the tournament, and entries have also been received from Ingleivood. Stratford, and Hawera. Intending visitors and competitors arc also reminded that motor cars will meet the tram (which leaves Egmont Street for Fitzroy at (10.30) at the terminus at Fitzioy and convey them to the links.
