TURF TOPICS. (By "Moturoa.") Horowhenua races to-day. The Napier Park meeting takes place on Saturday. Worcester, on Wanganui form, should rjn well in the Hurdles to-day. Sweet Tipperary ran a sterling race in (■lie Wanganui Guineas, and it is a big drop to a 75 sovs. race at Horowhenua. However, small fish are sweet. Taringamutu pulled off the big races laeli day at Otaki, paying great dividends eac'h time, but the one-eared mare only scored by a whisker each time. While leading Qleft round the bird cage at Wanganui, H. Hickey met with a painful accident. The Multifid gelding threw hi? head up suddenly,, ana btriking liis trainer's jaw with some force, broke it. Master Moutoa was finishing strongly »fter getting interfered with in the Teone Memorial Handicap on Monday, und may have better luck this afternoon. Rose Pink, who paid such a great price in the Dominion Hack Handicap at Otaki, is a brown filly by Kilbroney— Madder. Her form at Wanganui .vaa poor, but there was plenty of money fxu Tier away from the course when she won. Seedless to say those who backed her with the "books," only got one-quarter )f the joy which was attached to cashin a ticket on the "mill." Avon Park ivas fancied by her party fcr the Flying at Otaki, but she got anything but a good run, and finished well back. Ayah, by All Red—Hermosa, scored very easily each day at the meeting, but only paid small dividends. Another [>f All Red's progeny in the shape of Miss Deval ran off with the Stewards' Hack Handicap in very easy fashion.'
