RAHOTU (l<rom Our Own Correspondent.) Mr. A. D. Fielder, our lute tinsmith, has sold his property and gone to the Auckland district. Mr. C. A. Beaumont is his successor. Morrow lias sold her busli farm to Mr. \\. Fleming at a satisfactory figure, and has bought the pure bred Holstein bull. "King of the Black and Whites," for 100 gumeas. Mrs. Morrow now has a fine herd of pure bred cattle. Private J. Christie not being in the district long enough for the public to tender him a farewell, was sent a wristlet watcli as a momento, Lance-Corporal Salisbury and Private Allen Kaspcr were farewelled at the Hall oil Friday evening and presented with wristlet watches. The dance was well attended, and should not a fair sum for the wounded soldiers' funds. The ladies are verv busy cooking and getting cakes ready for the Xmas cheer for the soldiers at the front. Messrs. Groom, Hughson and Beaumont vver" busy on Thursday soldering down the tins. Mrs. Nelson Morgan was taken suddenly ill and had to, be conveyed to the hospital; also Mr. C. JeftVries. We hope io see both back again soon in their usual health. The directors of the factory decided that all cream supplied at the Raliotu factory shall be paid for at the rate of 3d per lb butter fat less than for milk for cheese. The milk supply is very much lower this month than at the same time last year, owing to the scarcity of feed and rough weather. The pay-out for September will be Is 3Jd per lb butter fat. URENUI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The fifth meeting of the W.C.T.U, was held at Mrs. Graham's residence, Onaero, the president being in the chair. Tt was reported that there were 34 members on the L. T. L. roll. It was decided that the president, together with the superintendent of the cradle roll, should visit the Maoris. The next meeting is to bd held at Mrs. Gilliver's residence, Urcnui. After the meeting closed tea and cakes were provided by Mrs. Graham. The fourth meeting in connection with the L.T.L. was held at Mrs. Howe's residence on September lfl, the president being in the c.hair. There was a good at tendance. Eleven new members wetc enrolled. The usual exercises were taught, and an address on "Temperance" was given by Mrs. Sowry. A pianoforte solo was rendered by Miss Hunter, a pianoforte duet by Misses E. and 0. Waite, recitations by Misses K. Gilliver, E. Shinjf, J. Smith and Zelma Sowry. Other dialogues, recitations and songs were taught. "God Save the King" and the Benediction bnuglit a. happy meeting to a close.
