The Farmers' Organisation Society arc building a larger storeroom at the back of their ollice premises. When completed, stocks of seeds, manures, etc.. will be stored, which will enable ens- ( t.omers to get their supplies on the shortest notice. The business of the firm in the district certainly warrants the improvements which are in progress. In the first round of the golf championship the following games have been j. decided:—Gudgeon beat Maetx.ig. (i up and 5 to play; J. Sutherland beat P. O'Carroll, 1 up on the 20th green. The liiile Club team journeys to Eltham oil Thursday to try conclusions with the latter club. Messrs Clifford Bros., of Leppcrton, bought several lots at Mr. Hopping's sale, of Ilolsteins. some of the ''plums'' of ] the herd being secured by these gentle- ] men, and their enterprise is deserving ( of commendation. ] (in Thursday last two weddings o! ] local interest were solemnised. Harvey c was the officiating clergyman in each ) ease. i On Friday night Mrs. Luke, Mayoress | of Wellington, met the Ladies' Patriotic j Committee' in the Town Hall and discussed the question of arranging for | Christmas hampers for the bovs at the ; front.
