The Kaiser telegraphed to the (impress that General von Maekensen had wo:i a peremptory victory at the Dobrudja. the date of the telegram is not stated. A German communique states: During the last few days Westende has 'been repeatedly bombarded from the sea. The battle of the Somme has been especially fierce. Twenty Anglo-French divisions assaulted between Alien* and the Somme. After hot fighting we were forced back through Coureeiette, Martinpuich. and Fleurs. We held Combles against strong British attacks. Six enemy aeroplanes were brought down. The Roumanians in Transylvania have crossed the Altura, above Fogcras, We captured the Roumanian positions southeast of Katzey. It was a decisive victory, crowned by clever, energetically conducted operations at Dobrudja. We are pursuing the defeated Russo-Rou-inaniahs. HIXDENBUKG VISITS THE EAST.
