THE CONSCRIPTION REFERENDUM. Sydney, Sept. 14. The caucus carried a motion urging Mr. Hughes to substitute civil for military censorship of conscription referendum speeches. Melbourne, Sept. 14. In the Senate, during the conscription debate, Mr. Ferrick said lie did not support the proposals. He claimed that Australia 'had done more than her fair share in the war. In the House of Representatives Mr. Hughes emphatically denied the statement, that under conscription soldiers' pay would be reduced. The only change contemplated was an increase for married men. Brisbane, Sept. 14. The executive of the Labor Party decided not to endorse the candidature of sitting members of the Senate or House of Representatives who do not oppose the Eeferendum Bill. CASUALTY LIST. Sydney, Sept. 14. list 211 contains the names of the following New Zealandew:—Killed in action, Private H. Forster; wounded, Second-Lieutenant H. McD. Campbell, ' Privates H. Carr, A. A. Tomlin, J. E. . ifaubon, and J. T. Cooney.
