(From Our Own Correspondent.) Waitara, Sept. 13,
The B.S. Zoalandic arrived in the roadstead at 4 p.m. to-day, coming direct from Brisbane. She will lift a quantity of frozen meat and 428 cases of canned meats.
Operations in connection with the building of the new theatre, which is to be situated in West Quay, were ;ommenced this morning.
icsnlt of the dancing classes which have recently been held every Friday evening, under the supervision of Mr. F. Ross, the amount of £5 Is has been handed over t» the Young Ladies' Sewing Guild. These classes will continue to l)e held as heretofore, and will wind up with a ball, the particulars of which are to be announced later. T'lio latest enlistments with Mr. ,T. Kempsell, lion, recruiting ofli.ee, are Messrs L. Buckingham, C. Young, L. V. Payne, and H. S. Tate.
