MENINGITIS EPIDEMIC.
ANOTHER DEATH SEVERAL CASES IN HOSPITAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association'. Wellington, Last Night. Private Thomas William King, of the J. Company, 20th Reinforcements, who hart been seriously ill with cerebrospinal meningitis, in the Featherston military hospital for some days, died this morning. General Henderson, Director >f Medical Services, states that of the other two cercbro-spinal meningitis eases in the hospital at Featherston on Saturday., (.no is considerably better, while the other, which has only'been suspected as cerebro-spinal meningitis, had proved to he suffering from that complaint. This latter case, however, was not severe. Since then two fresh cerebro-spinal meningitis cases had been admitted to the hospital at Featherston, one (which was not severe) being from the 17th Mounted Rules at Papawai, and the other (from G. Company, 20th Infantry), the latter case being seriously ill. Both eases were admitted yesterday, making now four cases of cerebro-spinal-mcningitis in the Featherston hospital. At Trenthain the men who were seriously ill with cerebro-spinal raeninguitis showed signs of improvement. Twu suspected cases still reman, riio hospital is free from fever, hut yesterday a further suspicious ease of meningitis was admitted to the hospital from the 17th Reinforcements. The 1/th's at Trcntham yesterday had three cases of mild German measles, and this morning five.
