ENROLMENT CERTIFICATES.

I FURTHER EMLIG'HTENMENT. '(From Our Own Correspondent.)' Wellington, Sept. 8. Applications for certificates cf enrolment are reaching the Government statistician in large numbers, in addition to inquiries and complaints that the men o? military age do. not always find it easy to understand what is required of them. "There really is no need to get worried," said one of the officials to-day. "AU that men need to do is to fill up one of the forms of application for a certificate of enrolment. Ho can get the form at any post office, and he lhas to insert his name and address before posting the paper to the Government Statistician. We do all the rest. •If a man's name appears on the National Register, ho will get an acknowledgment from us and will be told when to go to the post office for his certificate. If his name is mot on the Register, we will send him an enrolment form to fill up. "Some men are anxious about the possibility of their application going astray. They state that they may apply for a. certificate of enrolment, fail to get it, and then bo penalised as unregistered Reservists. There is very little chance of any .paper going astray, but in any ease the man can protect himself fully by following the instructions aLre&idiy given. If ho get 9no acknowledgment from the Department witihin ten days of posting his application, he should get another form and post that one. He can mark it 'duplicate,' so as to avoid the danger of getting on the roll twice. "Men are quite right to be anxious about getting on the roll, because it is going to be a very serious business for the man who fails to answer ins present call. But if t'hey fill up their applications for certificates of enrolment tihey will be enrolled right enough. A little delay at this end may be unavoidable, owing to the work we have in torn l "
