LABOR REPORT
■Following is the Now Plymouth labor . report for the period ending August 28, lUlu': There has been comparatively very little change in the conditions of trade since my previous report. The building trades are still active and promise well for the future. The woodworking trades report good business as do also the engineering and leather trades. The clothing traut'R are quiet just now as is usual at this time of the year. The printingtrades show a decline on the previous month. 'Retailers generally report fairly good business. The grocery .branch has been very satisfactory. Xo men are out of employment, and four vacant positions are offering in tlifc country. The meat freezing industry is at a standstill just now, while the dairying industry is just commencing operations for the new season. The coach-building trades are about normal. Tinsmithing is good. The cycle and motor trades have been busy upon repair work. Work for unskilled labor is fairly plentiful, and it is doubtful if any local men are out of employment.
