FROZEN MEAT TRADE.

ALLEGED ABUSES. By j?jlegrapli.—Press Association. Timaru, September .1. The executive of the South Canterbury Farmers' Union payed a resolution protesting against tlip gross abuses practised in connection with the frozen lamb trade under Government control. Since the English consumer pays 14d or lad per lb. while the farmer gets only about sd, the resolution demands alteration for the coming season. The chairman, Mr. John Talbot, said that less winter wheat has been put in, and the weather has been against spring sowing. He advised that as much as possible be put in. The Board of Trade could be trusted to act fairly by the growers as far as Australian imports are concerned.
